Activites

Lac de Guerledan has many activities on offer, from water-skiing, jet-biking, kayaking, sailing, swimming, fishing and good old fashioned lazing! to name but a few!  All have their designated areas, which keeps a calm ambiance.

The Sunday 'Artisan' market down at the Abbey is not to be missed for people watching and ambience, See the links page to watch a sample of the 'Son et Lumiere' show each July/August.
The Friday night summer market at Mur De Bretagne is great for a flavour of Breton life including music and dancing plus an activity...usually abseiling from the church spire.

Angling is a big pass time in Brittany, and there are many rivers, lakes and canal banks to fish,
and we can help you with this, about 5 euros for a childs licence which can be obtained at the fishing tackle shop in Pontivy which also supplies bait as do a variety of Tabaks/ Bars and some supermarkets.
There are also numerous lakes around where you can fish for trout, day ticket prices being very reasonable.

Horse Riding stables can be found in the area, the closest is less than 10 minutes away,
and is very reasonably priced in comparison to the UK, around 17 euros per hour for an adult to trek out !!!

Pontivy has a great Outdoor pool open in the spring and summer - a must visit, take a picnic.
Pontivy now also boasts a brand new indoor pool complex and there are further new or very modern pools at Loudeac and Gouarec.

There's a great 'Maise' maze at Lorient where you can lose the kids for a couple of hours !!        http://www.labyrintheducorsaire.com/labrinth.html
They also have bouncy castles for kids & adults and giant wooden puzzles; and it's only 10 minutes from Guidel plage (beach).

If you like to visit the zoo then Pont Scorff is a great day out, they do a lot of conservation work in conjunction with other zoos around the world
If cycling is your thing then you're coming to the right place as there are hundreds of tracks to be explored, whether it be mountain biking in the forest, long trips along the 100km disused railway line, or gently cycling along the Nantes-Brest canal, you can hire bikes locally and also at a reasonable cost from near the lake.

Golf can be played in Pontivy which has a lovely 9 hole course, there are larger courses closer to the coast, a very good one being near Guidel Plage, and a French open championship course at Ploemel 45 minutes drive.

There are parks for children; animal, theme and water, as well as aquariums, in fact there is so much to see and do in Brittany you'll need to come back to see us again !
